KnoxStudio ("we", "our", or "the app") is a screen recording and video editing application for macOS developed by Yunhai Sui. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data KnoxStudio collects, how it is used, and your rights.

Data Collection

KnoxStudio does not collect, transmit, or store any personal data.

Specifically:

We do not collect analytics or usage data.
We do not use any third-party tracking or advertising SDKs.
We do not require account creation or login.
We do not transmit any data over the internet. All processing is performed entirely on your device.

Device Permissions

KnoxStudio may request the following macOS permissions to function:

Screen Recording — Required to capture screen content.
Camera — Optional. Used only when you choose to record webcam video.
Microphone — Optional. Used only when you choose to record audio input.

These permissions are managed by macOS and can be revoked at any time in System Settings > Privacy & Security. The captured audio and video data stays on your device and is never uploaded to any server.

Local Storage

KnoxStudio saves project files and exported videos to locations you choose on your local file system. These files remain entirely under your control. We have no access to them.

Third-Party Services

KnoxStudio does not integrate with any third-party services, cloud storage, or external APIs. The app includes FFmpeg binaries solely for local media processing and export.

Children's Privacy

KnoxStudio does not collect any personal information from anyone, including children under the age of 13.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
